觀光業的興盛也為西班牙帶來強大的經濟成果，西班牙以觀光業為主的服務業約佔國內生產毛額 ( GDP) 的 64.2 ％，也是締造了西班牙亮麗經濟成長表現的主要產業。根據歐盟的統計資料顯示，受內需成長、就業機會增加所帶動，西班牙去年前兩季 GDP 成長率均達 0.9 ％的佳績，因此調高去年全年 GDP 成長率 為 3.5 ％，不僅高於歐洲央行 ( ECB) 5 月時預估的 3.1 ％，也高於其他德、法、英等歐盟工業大國。
西班牙僅次於法國，是世界第二大觀光國。去年西班牙的觀光人數為五千兩百四十萬。近年來，觀光業佔西國國民生產毛額 (GDP)的百分之十二。 最近喜欢上了"法朵"
